ILYICH makes music performances, sonic rituals and project activations – as stories about fluid identities and transmigration told from various first-person narratives.
Oscillating between recognisable electronic music and abstract sonic improvisations, ILYICH can often be found at the core of an intimate listening session, a sound ritual, gallery or museum gathering, or on larger club and festival stages around the world. Now, ILYICH plays Roskilde Festival.
ILYICH is known for his surprise appearances at the Lot Radio and I.S.C.P. in New York, BBC 6 Music, House of the World Cultures, SAVVY Contemporary and Festsaal Kreuzberg, Berlin or Bergen Kunsthall, Norway, among others.
Reincarnated in Kherson, Ukraine, ILYICH's performance draws on the urgency of peace in Ukraine. Contributing to the opening of Roskilde Festival, ILYICH is driven by the question “If not now, when?”. Accompanied by dancer and performer Manuela, both move in and out of this world reminding us of Elsewhere.
ILYICH will also play a DJ set in Ambereum on Thursday 30 June at 15:00.
