*It would be fair to call this an underground supergroup. Senso is a band made up of members from other Danish bands with some kind of clout.
The band is made up of frontman Jens Konrad from the electronic duo Lyra Valenza, and he is backed by members of bands such as Josiah Konder, Lød, Deadpan and Personal Assistant.
Senso plays neon-coloured, 80s-tinged kind of pop-rock. Played with a fixed stare towards the horizon, perhaps with a few coquettish dance steps along the way and without the slightest hint of irony. Senso is just chasing the golden tunes.
We're in a territory (and time) where bands like Spandau Ballet and Ultravox are gods. Just listen to Senso's should-be-a-hit "Is It True", a song with a chorus that reaches for the sky with great fervour and a melody that just sticks.
If you listen further to Senso's debut album, The Void in Us, from 2022, you quickly learn that the band is no one-hit-wonder. The album is really full of great songs. Just look at this review (in Danish!) that simply throws its arms into the air.
If you want to throw your arms in the air as well, you should drop by the Rising stage when Senso plays Roskilde Festival 2022.
