Come watch Tabita Rezaire’s Peaceful Warrior on a large screen in the foyer leading into the Gloria stage.
It’s a short film that functions as a ‘decolonial self-care tutorial’ that urges people of colour to connect with their histories, ancestral knowledge and traditional philosophical wisdom.
The artist guides us through Egyptian cosmology and wombs as she practices yoga and works out her 'womb power'. The purpose is to heal racialised people from the colonial trauma waged by Denmark. As a radical self-love kit, Rezaire guides us to a spiritual community and a solidarity struggle.
Tabita Rezaire (b.1989) is based in Cayenne, French Guyana. She has a bachelor in Economics (Fr) and a Master of Research in Artist Moving Image from Central Saint Martins (UK).
