Music and art from disadvantaged neighbourhoods

Experience children and young people present their art live. They come from disadvantaged neighbourhoods in Greater Copenhagen and Roskilde and they will perform music, show their artwork and explain their artistic journeys and how they collaborate with the creative NGO Turning Tables Denmark.

They show how art can help combat marginalisation and create a unique community. At the same time, they challenge misrepresentation and discrimination of young people living in social housing areas in Denmark.

Turning Tables Danmark is a non-profit organisation that works to strengthen the life situation of young people in Denmark whilst at the same time create new breaking points and disruptions in the Danish cultural life. Using film, photography and music as creative tools, they create a free space for young people to learn new creative skills that can build self-esteem, share experiences in alternative positive communities. Through creative expression, they challenge the misconceptions of their voices by Danish society.
