Six-piece group plays its way into the traditions of Scandinavian folk music

It's like being taken back in time – or maybe even out of time – when listening to six-piece Víík and their embrace of the Scandinavian folk music tradition. The six members represent Denmark, Sweden and Norway.

At the front, Víík has Norwegian singer and composer Elisabeth Vik who leads all listeners into a magical universe of medieval ballads, legends and fairy tales.

She is joined by a Scandinavian all-star team consisting of Annelene Toft (violin), Villads Hoffmann (cittern), Morten Alkjær (accordion) and Jakob Kragesand (double bass) from Denmark and Mårten Hillbom (percussion) from Sweden. All experienced and playful musicians who prove that the roots of Scandinivian folk music are alive and kicking and still relevant.

The group hasn't been around for so long but they've still managed to make themselves known as a solid live act. At the DMA Roots awards, they were nominated for live name of the year. When you hear them set fire to the instruments, you'll understand why it's so easy to get excited about this group.

Therefore, look forward to a true folk music party when Víik kicks up the dust on the Rising stage at Roskilde Festival 2022.
