Roskilde Festival 2022 is just around the corner. And in order to enter the festival site the right way, there is a number of details you need to know about. This is a guide for your arrival at this year's Roskilde Festival.


Soon, it’s time for Roskilde Festival 2022. When you enter the site, it's been three years (!) since we were last here.

That's why it's a good idea to have a look at how you arrive at the festival the best way.

We want to make sure that everyone has a safe and calm entry to our campsite.

If you’re planning to stay in one of our community camping or special camping areas on East, there are special conditions for your access. The same goes if you’re planning to stay at the regular camping area in West. Here, we’re letting the early birds in on 25 June in early entry intervals – and you have to buy access to this early entry. Or you can just arrive later.

We believe that all these measures give us all a nice opening of the festival.

So, you need to think about when you arrive, how you arrive and where at the festival you'll be staying.

We've put together an easy-to-read guide with important practical information before all the fun starts.

You plan to arrive on Saturday 25 June and to stay at camping East


Saturday is the opening day of Roskilde Festival 2022. This is a guide for how you get to Roskilde the best way and to the right camping spot.

This year, all of camping East has been turned into one big green area. Here, all areas are booked in advance.

There are five different community camping areas: Clean Out Loud, Dream City, Common Ground, Leave No Trace and Settle'n Share – plus a selection of special camping areas such as Silent & Clean, Get A Tent, Get A Place, Get A Camp, Tenthouse, Handicamp and sleep-in buses.

Use entrance East
To get to your area you have to enter through Entrance East which opens on Saturday 25 June at 16:00.

Get your wristband at Roskilde Station
If you arrive via Roskilde Station, we recommend that you exchange your ticket to a festival wristband in the parking area at the roundabout at Køgevej/Ny Østergade.

Arrive by bus to camping East
From Roskilde Station you can take the shuttle bus to Entrance East. The first departure is at 15:30 after which the buses operate around the clock. You buy your ticket on the bus. The price is DKK 25.

You can also go by Flixbus directly to Roskilde Festival. Buses stop right at the East entrance. The sale has not started yet but keep an eye on flixbus.dk.

Arrive with your own means of transport, get dropped off and get your wristband
If you arrive with your own means of transport, you have to drive to Drop-off Zone East on Øde-Hastrupvej. From 15:45, you can exchange your ticket to a wristband here. Then, you head on foot towards Entrance East.

If you need to park your own car, we have paid parking spaces in the same place. Prices TBA.

Please note: The festival train to Roskilde Festival is reserved for arrival at Camping West until 16:00. Only then can you use the train.

All community and special camping areas are reserved until Sunday 26 June at 16:00. After that, they can be used by anyone with respect for the rules of the area. If you are in doubt, please contact the nearest tower or information at the campsite.

Arrive with your own sleep-in bus
If you arrive with your own sleep-in bus, you have to drive directly to the designated area. The area is accessed via Kamstrupvej and is open from Saturday 25 June at 16:00.

Camping West is our area for regular tent camping and for designated areas for Caravan and MC.

We want to ensure a smooth and calm opening so if you want to get into Camping West early, you'll need to buy an early entry ticket.

You can do this in two ways:

Arrive by train
From Roskilde Station you can take a train directly to Roskilde Festival Station, located at Camping West. The train operates at 20/40-minute intervals from Saturday 25 June at 9:32, arriving just a few minutes later. The train then operates on the following hours: 10:12, 10:32, 11:12, etc. You can see all departures on the Journey Planner site.

Between 09:32 and 15:32, you need to buy a ticket for a specific train departure. You can buy tickets via Ticketmaster from 1 June at 12:00 (max 10 bookings per purchase). The ticket costs DKK 60. Each departure has room for 500 passengers.

It is not possible to buy tickets at the station during the above-mentioned times. You can do this for the 16:12 departure and onwards.

We will check for valid tickets at the entrance to the platform.

On arrival, you can exchange your ticket to a wristband and get access to camping West.

Arrive with your own means of transport, get dropped off and get your wristband
If you arrive with your own means of transport, please drive to Drop-off Zone West on Darupvej where you can exchange your ticket to a wristband. From here, you head on foot towards Entrance West.

If you need to park your own car, we have paid parking spaces in the same place. Prices TBA.

Book an early entry ticket between 10:00 and 15:30
If you want to enter camping West before 16:00, you must book a specific time slot in half-hourly intervals between 10:00 and 15:30. Each time slot has a capacity for 500 people.

You can book your early entry via Ticketmaster from 1 June at 12:00. The ticket costs DKK 40. You can buy up to 10 early entry bookings per purchase.

After 16:00, there is normal access to camping West.

Please note that you cannot cross the bridge to Camping East and set up camp.

Also note: If you are staying at camping West, you should not take the shuttle buses to Roskilde Festival as they only stop at Entrance East.

Walk from Roskilde Station along Maglegårdsvej
From Saturday 25 June at 16:00, you can exchange your ticket to a wristband at Maglegårdsvej 14 and and proceed on foot through our Entrance North and via Darupvej to camping West.

Arrive with caravan or motorbike
If you arrive with your own caravan or motorcycle, you have to drive directly to the designated areas. All camping areas are open from Saturday 25 June at 10:00.

Caravan North and MC camping are accessed via Darupvang.

Caravan South is accessed via Kamstrupvej.

You can exchange your ticket to a wristband in the area between 16:00 and 22:00.

You plan to arrive between Sunday 26 June and Saturday 2 July and to stay at camping East

If you have bought one of the following special camping products, the reservation never expires: Get a Tent, Rent your Tent, Tenthouse, Caravan, MC Camping og Sleep-in Busses.

To get to your area, you can use entrance East. At the entrance you can exchange your festival ticket to a wristband.

From 29 June to 2 July, you can exchange your ticket to a wristband at Maglegårdsvej 14 and enter via the North entrance close to the Orange Stage. It was the festival’s old main entrance. In this way, you can walk from Roskilde Station to the festival site along Maglegårdsvej and enter the campsite.

On Saturday 2 July, Tour De France is taking place in Roskilde
If you arrive on Saturday 2 July, you should be aware of a very special traffic situation. On this day, Tour De France takes place in Roskilde. This affects the traffic situation. We strongly recommend leaving your car at home. Between 9 and 13, we suspend all our own public transport on the roads. If you are arriving by car via the Holbæk motorway (road 21), take exit 9 if you come from Copenhagen. If you are coming from the west, take exit 13.

Special Camping West is centrally located just north of Orange Stage. This is your guide to find the area easily.

Special Camping Central opens on Tuesday 28 June at 12:00.

Walk from Roskilde Station
You can walk from Roskilde Station via Maglegårdsvej towards Special Camping Central. You can exchange your ticket to a wristband at Maglegårdsvej 14 and move onwards towards the camping area from there.

Arrive by train
From Roskilde Station you can take a train directly to Roskilde Festival Station, located at Camping West. You can see all departures on the Journey Planner site.

You buy a ticket for the train on the platform.

Parking
If you need a parking space for your car we have paid parking spaces on Øde-Haslevvej and Darupvej. Prices will be announced soon.

On Saturday 2 July, Tour De France is taking place in Roskilde
