Your packing list is probably long when you’re getting ready for Roskilde Festival. Besides sunglasses and sunscreen, it's important to remember a tent to sleep in, a sleeping bag to keep you warm at night and maybe a little something delicious to eat and drink.

Then you're ready, surely. Or do you need more?

Are you also bringing a white pavilion? And a blue inflatable mattress with PVC? And just as importantly: Do you take the stuff back home again?

Danish actor and comedian Magnus Millang guides you to a more climate-friendly festival behaviour

Abandoned single-use pavilions and inflatable mattresses with PVC, in particular, are some of the major climate sins (this year, you can rent alternatives to these directly from us – read more here).

But now we may be spoiling a bit too much.

When you click the link to the festival footprint calculator, you suddenly get some numbers on the climate impact of your festival behaviour.

You click through a series of choices, from means of transport to the quantity of camping equipment and food and drinks you bring – and your readiness to recycle.

It can surprise you, be an eye-opener or simply confirm what you already knew. The only way to find out is to check how big your festival footprint really is. Click below.

Did you know that after every festival, we collect over 30 tonnes of blue inflatable mattresses. They cannot be incinerated but must be put in a landfill, which means that they will be buried until science comes up with a method for removing the harmful material in a safe way. So, choose another product and remember to take it home with you again and use it again next year.
