Come to a hit party at Orange Stage with arguably the best live performer in Danish rap.
Even though Kesi just only recently turned 30, he can already look back on a long and distinguished career.
The history of how he, Gilli and Benny Jamz founded B.O.C in the early 2010s, which together with Cheff Records threw a bucket of cold water on the sluggish Danish hip hop scene, is well-known. And as a solo artist, he dominated the charts at home for the last decade with a flood of catchy tunes. Følelsen, Tilbage, Mamacita og Blå Himmel – to name a few.
Kesi has a unique ear for melodic hooks and a well-developed musical radar, which draws inspiration from afro beats, grime, salsa as well as tropical pop. He is also a powerhouse on stage, with his boundless energy and intense audience interaction, which is something the festival guests at Roskilde Festival have enjoyed on multiple occasions.
Speaking of his recent round birthday, Kesis’ latest album is called 30 somre. As the title implies, the album is a look at how far he has come, and the conclusion is clear: Kesi is sharp, charming, (a little) more mature – and better than ever.
And how better to celebrate this than with his first show on Orange Stage?
