HOW TO ARRIVE AT ROSKILDE FESTIVAL WITH EASE

The sound of the festival, the scent of green grass, and the feelings of euphoria, camping and community are starting to kick in – there are less than 50 days until the festival starts! 

It's time to plan how you will make your entrance to Roskilde Festival 2023 – and we want to ensure a smooth and safe opening of our camping area. 

Whether you are traveling on foot, by bike, car, train, or bus, we have listed all your options below. If you are planning to stay in community camping or special camping areas on East, there are special conditions for your access. The same goes if you wish to be an early bird and gain early entry to the camping site through either Entrance East or Entrance West.

We have put together an easy-to-read guide with important practical information before all the fun starts. 

We believe that all these measures give us all a nice opening to the festival.

You plan to arrive on Saturday 24 June and to stay at Camping East 

Saturday is the opening day of Roskilde Festival 2023. This is a guide for you to get to Roskilde the best way and to the right place. 

The whole of Camping East is again this year one large spot for community camping and special camping. Here, all areas are booked in advance. 

There are five different community camping areas: Clean Out Loud, Dream City, Common Ground, Leave No Trace and Settle'n Share – and in addition a number of special camping areas such as Rent Your Tent, Get A Place, Get A Silent Spot, Tenthouses, Handi-camp and Sleep-in Buses. 

Use the Entrance East 
To get to your area, use entrance East, which opens on Saturday 24 June at 16:00. 

Arrive by bus to camping East 
From Roskilde Station you can take the shuttle bus to Entrance East. The first departure is at 15:30, and after that the buses operate around the clock. You buy your ticket on the bus. The price is DKK 30.

You can also go by Flixbus directly to Roskilde Festival. The buses stop right at the East entrance. The sale has not started yet but keep an eye on flixbus.dk. 

Arrive with your own means of transport, get dropped off and get your wristband 
If you arrive with your own means of transport, you have to drive to the Drop-off Zone East on Øde-Hastrupvej. From 16:00, you can exchange your ticket to a wristband here. You then set off on foot towards entrance East. 

If you need to park your own car, we have paid parking spaces at the same location. We strongly advice you to book your parking spot in advance, if you wish to avoid risking not being able to find a parking spot on the day. Book a parking spot in our webshop from Thursday 11 May at 11:30. 

Parking spots for GreenMobility
In collaboration with GreenMobility we're allocating parking spots for their environmentally friendly rent cars within our parking spots in Drop-off Zone East and Drop-off Zone West. More info will follow soon.

Arrive by festival train 
From Roskilde Station you can take a train directly to the station at Roskilde Festival, which is located at Camping West. The train runs at approx. 20-/40-minute intervals.

If you are staying in Camping East, you can cross the footbridge. 

Note: All community areas are reserved until Sunday 25 June at 16:00. After this, they may be used by everyone with respect for the rules that apply to the chosen area. This also applies if you have booked a spot via Get A Place or Get A Silent Spot. If you are in doubt, contact the nearest tower or information at the campsite. 

If you have purchased one of the following Special Camping products, the reservation will not expire: Rent Your Tent, Tenthouse, Caravan, MC Camping and Sleep-in Buses. 

Arrive with own sleep-in bus 
If you arrive with your own sleep-in bus, you must drive directly to the special area dedicated to this. The area is accessed via Kampstrupvej. The area is open from Saturday 24 June at 16:00. 

Early Entry for the eagerly 

If you want to be one of the first to set foot in the beautiful camping area, you can book Early Entry access to East and book your arrival for a specific time slot in half hour intervals between 10:00 and 15:30 (read more about Early Entry access here).

Early Entry - Take the train from Roskilde Station to Roskilde Festivalplads St.
From Roskilde Station you can take a train directly to the station at Roskilde Festival, which is located at Camping West. The train runs at approx. 20-/40-minute intervals from Saturday 24 June in the hours between 9:55 and 15:15, arriving a few minutes later.

You can book your train departures via our shop from Thursday 11 May at 11:30 and you will receive a mail notifying you on the train schedule as soon as we receive it from Banedanmark.

A train ticket including Early Entry access costs DKK 75.

After the final Early Entry departure on June 24, you can buy your ticket for regular departures with the festival train at Roskilde Station.

Early Entry East (Vor Frue)
You can book your Early Entry through Entrance East. This option is primarily aimed at those who walk from Roskilde Station, arrive by bike or take the shuttle bus to the main entrance of Camping East. You will also receive your festival wristband here. 

You can buy a ticket via our shop from 11 May at 11:30. 

Early Entry East (Drop-off)
You can also book Early Entry in our Drop-of Zone East on Øde-Hastrup-Vej, and this option is for those arriving by car. You will also receive your festival wristband here. You then set off on foot towards entrance East. 

You can book your Early Entry access via our shop from 11 May at 11:30. The ticket costs DKK 50.

Early Entry – bus from Hillerød St. to entrance East 
You can also book your Early Entry by taking the bus from Hillerød St. with arrival in entrance East. Here you can go directly to the queue. The bus journey takes approximately one hour*, and you can choose from the following six departures on Saturday 24 June: 

At 08:30, 10:00, 11:00 12:00, 14:00 and 15:00. 

The price for the bus trip including Early Entry access is DKK 95 (plus fee).

You can buy a ticket via our shop from 11 May at 11:30. 

*Traffic delays may occur and therefore we cannot guarantee that the buses departing at 14:00 and 15:00 will arrive before 16:00. 

Note: All community areas are reserved until Sunday 25 June at 16:00. However, you can cross the train bridge between Camping West and Camping East if you want to use your Early Entry pass in Camping East to find a regular camping spot in Camping West.

Arrive with your own transport and be dropped off 
If you arrive with your own transport, you must drive to Drop-off Zone West on Darupvej. From here you set off on foot towards the West entrance.

If you need to park your own car, we have paid parking spaces at the same location. We strongly advice you to book your parking spot in advance, if you wish to avoid risking not being able to find a parking spot on the day. Book a parking spot in our webshop from Thursday 11 May at 11:30.

Early Entry access

We want to ensure a smooth and calm opening, so if you want to enter Camping West early, you must buy an Early Entry ticket. 

You can do this in two ways: 

Take the train from Roskilde Station to Roskilde Festivalplads St.
From Roskilde Station you can take a train directly to the station at Roskilde Festival, which is located at Camping West. The train runs at approx. 20-/40-minute intervals from Saturday 24 June in the hours between 9:30 and 15:30, arriving a few minutes later.

You can book your train departures via our shop from Thursday 11 May at 11:30 and you will receive a mail notifying you on the train schedule as soon as we receive it from Banedanmark.

A train ticket including Early Entry access costs DKK 75. 

After the final Early Entry departure on June 24, you can buy your ticket for regular departures with the festival train at Roskilde Station.

Early Entry – West
You can also book Early Entry in entrance West in Darup, and this option is for those arriving by car. You get your wristband at the drop-off zone and from here walk up to entrance West. 

You book your Early Entry via our webshop from Wednesday 11 May at 11:30am. The ticket costs DKK 50. 

After 16.00 there is normal access to Camping West. 

Note: If you are staying at Camping West, you can’t take shuttle buses to Roskilde Festival, as these only stop at the East entrance. 

Caravan or MC Camping – including Early Entry 
If you arrive with your own caravan or motorbike, you must drive directly to the special areas dedicated to this. All camping areas are open from Saturday 24 June at 16:00. 

Caravan North and MC camping are accessed via Darupvang. Caravan South is accessed via Kamstrupvej. 

You can exchange your ticket for a wristband in nearby ticket machines in the area between 16:00 and 22:00. 

You can also book Early Entry in half-hour intervals between 10.00 and 14.30. You can buy a ticket via our shop from 11 May at 11:30.

Walk from Roskilde Station to Maglegårdsvej 
From Saturday 24 June at 16.00 you can exchange your ticket for a wristband at Maglegårdsvej 14 and from there proceed through our North entrance and via Darupvej to Camping West. 

For you who plan to arrive between Sunday 25 June and Saturday 1 July and stay at Camping East 

During this period, most people have settled in, and we expect a completely calm entrance to the festival. This is a guide for you to get to Roskilde smartly and to the right place. 

This year, the entire Camping East is once again one large area for community camping and special camping. Here, all areas are booked in advance. 

There are five different community camping areas: Clean Out Loud, Dream City, Common Ground, Leave No Trace and Settle'n Share - and in addition a number of special camping areas such as Rent Your Tent, Get A Place, Get A Silent Spot, Tenthouses, Handi-camp and Sleep-in Buses.

Use entrance East or take the train directly to the campsite 
To get to your area, you can use entrance East. At the entrance, you exchange your festival ticket for a wristband.  

From Roskilde Station, you can also take a train directly to the station at Roskilde Festival, which is located at Camping West. You can see all departures on Rejseplanen. The train station is called Roskilde Festivalplads St. You can buy a train ticket on the platform. 

Arrive by bus at Camping East 
From Roskilde Station you can take the shuttle bus to entrance East. You buy your ticket on the bus. The price is 30 kroner. 

You can also take Flixbus directly to Roskilde Festival. The buses stop right at entrance East. The sale has not started yet, but keep an eye on flixbus.dk.

Arrive with your own sleep-in bus 
If you arrive with your own sleep-in bus, you must drive directly to the special area dedicated to this. This area will be accessed via Kamstrupvej. The area is open from Saturday 24 June at 16:00.

Walk from Roskilde Station to entrance North – 28 June - 1 July 
Between 28 June to 1 July, you can exchange your ticket for a wristband at Maglegårdsvej 14 and enter via entrance North close to the Orange Stage. It was the festival's old main entrance. It is thus possible to walk from Roskilde Station to the festival site along Maglegårdsvej and enter that way.

Arrive by caravan or motorcycle 
If you arrive with your own caravan or motorbike, you must drive directly to the special areas dedicated to this. 

Caravan North and MC camping are accessed via Darupvang. 

Caravan South is accessed via Kamstrupvej. 

Walk from Roskilde Station to the old main entrance – 28 June - 1 July 
Between 28 June to 1 July, you can exchange your ticket for a wristband at Maglegårdsvej 14 and enter via entrance North close to the Orange Stage. It is thus possible to walk from Roskilde Station to the festival site along Maglegårdsvej and enter that way. 

Shuttle bus between Høje-Taastrup and entrance East 
From Wednesday 28 June, shuttle buses will operate between Høje-Taastrup Station and entrance East. Here you can exchange your festival ticket for a wristband. The ticket for the bus costs DKK 45 and can be bought by the bus. 

You are arriving between Tuesday 27 June and Saturday 1 July and staying at Special Camping Central 

Special Camping West is centrally located north of Orange Scene. This is a guide on how to easily find your way to the area. 

Special Camping Central opens on Tuesday 27 June at 12:00. 

Walk from Roskilde Station 
You can walk from Roskilde Station along Maglegårdsvej towards Special Camping Central. You can exchange your ticket for a wristband at Maglegårdsvej 14 and from there move on to Special Camping Central. 

Take the festival train 
From Roskilde Station you can take a train directly to the station at Roskilde Festival, which is located at Camping West. The train operates at approx. 20-/40 minute intervals.

You can buy a train ticket on Roskilde St. 

Parking 
If you need to park with your own car, we have parking spaces on Parking West and Parking Far West. We strongly advice you to book your parking spot in advance, if you wish to avoid risking not being able to find a parking spot on the day.
