EXPERIENCE KONVENT IN A UNIQUE STAGED SETTING AT BETTY NANSEN THEATRE

PUBLISHED THURSDAY 2.3.2023

Experience first-class grumble and growl in a one-of-a-kind setting when Betty Nansen Theatre and Roskilde Festival present critically acclaimed death doom metal outfit Konvent in The Iliad’s scenography

On 15 April we are teaming up with Betty Nansen Theatre to present a bloody, growling and monstrous theater night featuring the majestic death doom metal outfit Konvent.

The critically acclaimed Copenhagen five-piece will play the battered slaughterhouse that forms the setting for Homer’s The Iliad. Here, music and theater collide in new, unpredictable encounters that exorcise inner demons in a unique setting.

The staged concert will be directed by Amanda Ginman who in the past also worked on similar theater shows presented by Betty Nansen Theatre and Roskilde Festival. Previous staged concerts feature Bisse, Iris Gold and When Saints Go Machine.

In 2020, Konvent released their debut album, “Puritan Masochism”, and the band expanded both its repertoire and fan base with the follow-up album “Call Down the Sun” in 2022. The same year Konvent played Roskilde Festival for a second time following their inaugural concert at the festival in 2019.

The audience can look forward to a completely different concert experience when scenography and costumes—and maybe even blood—is added the band's slow and heavy death metal! Fans of Konvent are sure to experience the band, its encompassing sound and haunting art in a brand-new light.

Tickets are on sale now and can be bought from bettynansen.dk.
