OPEN CALL ’22: HELP US SUPPORT THE DREAMS AND WELL-BEING OF YOUNG PEOPLE

PUBLISHED MONDAY 5.12.2022

We are opening for applications for donations from the Roskilde Festival Charity Society. In particular, we would like to hear from initiatives with a strong connection between art, culture and the well-being of young people.

Roskilde Festival Charity Society donates all the financial profits from Roskilde Festival to initiatives that benefit children, young people and cultural life in particular.

And after this year’s awesome festival, there is money in the bank once again, ready to be distributed. These funds must act as fertile soil for new ideas, solutions and dreams of a more sustainable world.

As a festival, we know that art and culture can involve people in communities, bring hope and inspire big dreams. With art and culture, we can also affect people’s mental health positively.

In other words: the profit from this year's festival must bring the dreams of young people to life!

For this reason, we are launching Open Call ’22.

Wanted: Art and culture for young people

We are looking for donation applications from associations and organisations that support well-being and mental health for young people in vulnerable life situations.

We will prioritise applications from cross-disciplinary projects that integrate art and culture in their initiatives – and preferably where volunteers are used to make a difference to the communities.

And we are particularly curious to hear about initiatives that test new ideas and approaches which can demonstrate strong connections between art, culture and the well-being of young people.

This could be via art and cultural experiences, but also constructive and creative communities with young people processing their experiences.

Why well-being and culture?

With this year’s Open Call, we want to make a difference to children and young people as they go through life.

We do this by activating art and culture in social initiatives, preventive initiatives and initiatives aimed at providing treatment.

To us, Open Call ’22 is about applying the potential for art and culture to improve well-being for young people in vulnerable life situations.

This is because the increasing lack of well-being and the number of young people living outside society’s communities point to the need for an innovative approach.

As a festival, we know that art and culture can involve people in communities, bring hope and inspire big dreams.

With art and culture, we can also affect people’s mental health positively.
