Young rap sensation from Argentina is ready for Roskilde with new album
From a very young age, Argentinian rapper Trueno has had hip-hop running through his veins. The inspiration of American icons like Tupac Shakur, Dr. Dre, and Snoop Dogg mirrored his own experiences in the La Boca neighborhood of Buenos Aires and laid the foundation for his unique Argentine take on hip-hop.
As a teenager, he made his mark as a prominent freestyle rapper in some of the biggest Spanish-language tournaments, which has helped build his name in the Spanish-speaking world. The stage was set when, at just 18 years old, he released his debut album Atrevido (2020), a mix of old school hip-hop, trap, reggaeton and elements of Argentinian folklore that made him a huge name in the Latin American rap scene. No less than nine songs from his debut album made it to Spotify's Top 50 Argentina.
In 2022, the album Bien o Mal followed, which has helped Trueno's name spread beyond the Latin American world. Among other things, he has been invited on stage with Gorillaz. In 2022, he also gave an amazing Tiny Desk session, performing in the context of the La Boca neighborhood that his music is so closely linked to. Now, La Boca's rap prodigy, who will release a new album in 2024, is ready to take over Roskilde Festival!
