Fight fast fashion and overconsumption when young fashion activists take over Flokkr

  • Monday 1 July
Workshop: Fuck Fast Fashion, 15:00, Flokkr Container #1
  • Monday 1 July
    Talk & Anti-Fast Fashion Show, 19:00, Flokkr

The fashion industry is one of the major culprits in the climate crisis. Massive overproduction and overly cheap clothes put enormous pressure on the climate and those who work in the industry.

Therefore, Flokkr invites you to an AntiFastFashionShow, climate rap and talk, and workshop. Take control of your fashion choices, reflect on your clothing consumption, and learn how to find new value in the clothes you already have at home.

TrashGirls 8000 and Alternative Fashion Week will guide you to explore your true aesthetics and regain control over your textile consumption through the upcycling workshop in Flokkr's containers. With stencils, textile scraps, and paint, you can do something concrete about the escalating climate and environmental crisis.

After the workshop, the clothes will be presented in an AntiFastFashionShow at Flokkr, hosted by TrashGirls 8000 and Alternative Fashion Week CPH, where the rap duo MC Dommedag & Klimahystaden crack down on consumerism and the fashion industry.

Before the show, the team behind AntiFastFashionShow will discuss their activist work resisting the fashion industry and consumerism.

MC Dommedag & Klimahystaden consists of Johan Michelsen Kjeldahl and Esther Michelsen Kjeldahl. The duo writes songs to create positive change with a catchy and humorous style, addressing the climate crisis and global injustice.

Alternative Fashion Week Copenhagen is a platform for younger designers, circular thinkers, and passionate event creators. For three years, they have held the sustainable fashion festival Alternative Fashion Week Copenhagen (AFW CPH).

TrashGirls 8000 is a curated community from Aarhus that shares recycled clothes, organizes cultural flea markets and upcycling workshops, and manages the 'TrashGirls Sustainable Stitches' project, which aims to promote a healthier approach to clothing consumption.
