Kai Merke, Luka Holmegaard & Mija Milovic^DK

With references to pop culture, gender euphoria, and BDSM, choreographer Kai Merke, writer Luka Holmegaard, and musician Mija Milovic have created the performance Havet i munden. 

The piece is based on Luka Holmegaard's poetry collection of the same name, published in 2023. 

Through dance and choral singing, the three artists dramatize the poems about queer culture, pleasure, and the eternal transformation of the body. 

The whole thing takes place in an abstract bathing universe where sound and movement blend together, and where queer and trans bodies, sensuality, sensuousness, vulnerability, and intimacy are at the centre.

Kai Merke Danish/German choreographer, dancer, dramaturg, somatic voice coach and co-founder of the artist-run platform and studio Dance Cooperative. 

Mija Milovic Danish/Montenegrin musician, composer, and producer. Milovic works under her own name, under the alias Puck Mintie, in the rock band SLIM0, and in several collectives such as Aktivistkoret and Viktors Garage. 

Luka Holmegaard Author. He released the poetry collection Havet i munden in 2023 and has previously won the Prisma Literary Award.
