Dense atmospheres and melancholy from Iranian electro-acoustic duo

With a mix of acoustic instruments, experimental electronic soundscapes and vocals, Iranian duo 9T Antiope have refined their ever-expanding musical universe over a multitude of releases.

With an almost cinematic sense of unfolding narratives through dense atmospheres and building sound worlds that constantly open new layers for the listener, they create passages through the chaotic reality we inhabit. The result is often bleak, but the music also has a great beauty.

Paris-based duo Nima Aghiani and Sara Bigdeli Shamloo have been releasing their music on a variety of labels since 2014. Ahead of their concert at Roskilde Festival, they are releasing their new album Horror Vacui on the American Dreams label. Creating an almost chamber-musical atmosphere with minimalist use of violins, octave mandolin and vocals, they use a mix of Middle Eastern melodies and contemporary production to build a quiet drama that revolves around memory and oblivion.

Look forward to an atmospheric experience at Roskilde Festival when the Iranian duo performs. The show is part of the concert series Heartcore World Music XXXL, curated by Behrang Najafi, Shahin Entezami (Temp-Illusion), and Simin Stine Ramezanali (abji_hypersun/SLIM0).

The program features artists who navigate the intersection of hip-hop, scratching, and acoustic music, contributing to breaking down musical conventions. Heartcore World Music XXXL invites you to an immersive experience that challenges preconceived notions, creates new spaces, and encourages you to experience music in a fresh way.
