From her early years in the duo Moloko, Róisín Murphy's path through music has been characterized by equal parts artistic playfulness, irresistible catchiness and wildly ambitious productions.
With her warped and dance-friendly electronic pop music she takes the listener on a journey of discovery through the history of dance music, combining elements of disco, house, soul, and techno in songs that bubble with humor, intelligence and sensuality. Just listen to her latest album from 2023, the boldly titled Hit Parade, created in collaboration with German producer DJ Koze and released on the legendary Ninja Tune label.
Hit Parade has already received excellent reviews and has been hailed as a masterpiece by The Guardian among others. With this album, Murphy cements her reputation as one of the most important figures in modern electronic pop. A reputation she has been building since her debut solo album Ruby Blue (2005), created in close collaboration with Matthew Herbert.
