When Skrillex steps onto Orange Stage this summer, it follows a simply fantastic 2023 for the American DJ and producer. Not only has the past year seen two critically acclaimed album releases, but Skrillex has also embarked on a whirlwind tour with musical playmates Fred again.. and Four Tet, where the trio, among other achievements, sold out Madison Square Garden in a mere three minutes and closed the legendary American festival Coachella in front of 100,000 people!
Skrillex truly kicked open the door to the EDM world in the early 2010s as the defining figure for a unrestrained, metal-like, and notably commercially successful variant of dubstep, quickly dubbed brostep. This marked the beginning of a career where star-studded collaborations and musical ambitions went hand in hand.
Skrillex has been part of the duo Jack Ü with Diplo, and produced for Beyoncé, Kendrick Lamar, Justin Bieber, FKA Twigs, Korn, and many others. On his critically acclaimed 2023 album, Quest For Fire, where Skrillex underscores his enormous artistic range, former Roskilde guests Fred again.. Four Tet, and Jamie xx make appearances alongside, among many others, Missy Elliott.
The day after Quest for Fire, Skrillex released another album, Don't Get Too Close, and together, these two albums are a demonstration of power, showing that the creative flame burns relentlessly. That flame will light up the entire Orange Scene when Skrillex delivers an epic rave!
