Men in a Changing World: Stories of Norms, Pressure and Possibilities

  • Sunday 28 June
    14:00, Re:Act

What does it mean to be a man today—when traditional ideals are crumbling and new expectations are taking shape? How do you navigate norms around strength, vulnerability, responsibility, equality and identity, when the boxes we’re placed in can both restrict and liberate?

DareGender brings together a panel of men who dive into how they navigate a world where masculinity norms are being challenged and reshaped.

Among the speakers are:

Carl-Christian Tippin Okking, former elite football player and author of Drenge græder ikke (“Boys Don’t Cry”), William Bodhi Mørck, an MMA fighter on the path to going professional, the duo Gents, who have just released the album Masculinity, and Andreas Beck Kronborg, Head of Secretariat at DareGender.

The conversation is moderated by author, journalist and commentator Anders Haahr Rasmussen and will move between personal experiences and broader societal questions: from body ideals and emotional taboos to community, relationships and the challenges young men face in a time where masculinity is being debated, criticized and reinvented.

DareGender is a nationwide volunteer organization engaging boys and men in conversations about gender, exploring and challenging understandings of masculinity and stereotypes.

The panel discussion will be in Danish.

Re:Act is presented by Rapolitics, Roskilde Festival, and the Danish Institute for Human Rights, with support from the Tuborg Foundation.
