Motherhood as a Force for Change in Saf Hayat’s Climate Activism

  • Monday 29 June
    11:00, Re:Act

Saf Hayat steps onto the stage with a voice rooted in everyday life and directed toward the future. She is 42 years old, an educator with many years of experience, a former designer, and soon to publish her first book. She is active in the climate movement and insists that care is not the opposite of action, but the very driving force behind change.

In both her life and her writing, she moves between motherhood and resistance, between care work and systemic critique. Her perspective is both personal and political, connecting the small experiences of daily life with the larger structures that shape our lives, our bodies, and our shared future.

As a person and as a professional, Saf Hayat insists on dignity—in work, in language, and in the way we take responsibility for one another and for the planet. Not to make noise. But to make change.

Re:Act is presented by Rapolitics, Roskilde Festival, and the Danish Institute for Human Rights, with support from the Tuborg Foundation.
