1Guh Watch brings the energy of dancehall culture to Platform, bringing together internationally recognised Jamaican artists in a performance that celebrates creativity and community.
Through choreography created in the moment, the dancers let movement, rhythm, and attitude unfold naturally. Expect high energy, infectious music, and dancers who make you want to move.
Moves like Pon di River / Pon di Bank set the tone as 1Guh Watch unfolds a performance driven by groove, presence, and shared energy.
Miss Rose, a dancer based in London, brings her distinctive style, while Dynamic Legends, a pioneering dancehall crew, push the genre forward with moves like Twitch, Guzu Bounce, and Krutch.
Eye Juice (Lumi Pulkkinen), a Finnish photographer and dancer, documents the performance live through photo and video, while DJ Pappi delivers the music and keeps the energy flowing.
Choreographer and researcher Tamara Alegre is the driving force behind 1Guh Watch. Her work explores embodiment and resistance in pieces such as FIEBRE and NX FUIMO, while also developing new approaches to dance education through projects like EKOS DEM A MOVE.
During First Days, you can join a workshop at Dancefloor, where 1Guh Watch shares their moves and approach to dancehall.
1Guh Watch is a dancehall-based collective rooted in Jamaican dancehall, exploring how Black social dances move within institutional spaces. The group has led workshops across North America, Europe, Colombia, and Asia, and its members are based in both Jamaica and across the globe
