- Sunday 28 June16:00, Re:Act
Join Rixpoet as he fuses rhythm, storytelling, and presence in an intense performance that invites the audience into conversations about identity, masculinity, agency, and social justice.
Through many years of working with young people and local communities on sexuality and gender, Rixpoet has developed a keen insight into how we relate to our bodies, desires, vulnerabilities, and past. His poetry challenges destructive norms and opens up new ways of understanding one another, fostering empathy, reflection, and shared liberation.
Onyango Otieno comes from Nairobi’s vibrant arts scene – characterised by a strong spoken word tradition and a close connection between art, activism, and local communities – and works at the intersection of poetry, performance, and human rights.
His art grows out of the body, the systems we inhabit, and the stories we carry, transforming words into spaces for resistance, reflection, and collective healing.
The event is presented by Re:Act – a collaboration between Rapolitics, Roskilde Festival, and the Danish Institute for Human Rights – and is supported by the Tuborg Foundation.
