RUMGEHØRDK

Architects invite you to rest, play, and reflect in the festival’s largest circle.

The interdisciplinary architecture studio Rumgehør has created a circular installation, 20 meters in diameter, for the campsite. It is made up of a series of individual furniture elements that together form one large ring to frame the sense of community. On their own, the elements are unstable, but the moment they are connected, they gain stability and function.

Rundkredsen is a place to meet, and a space within the landscape. It is placed at the top of P and cut open by the main road of the camping area. At this intersection, it offers a place to gather, take a break, meet new friends, or simply have a party.

For six years, Rumgehør has worked as empathetic and process‑oriented designers with a focus on relationships between people and their surroundings. Their practice is rooted in co‑creation, where local anchoring and the involvement of users and stakeholders are central to the development of architecture, design, and art projects.

Rundkredsen will remain in the landscape for at least a year and serve as a meeting place for both festival guests and the surrounding local community all year round.

More circles will appear as meeting points throughout Roskilde during the summer, like echoes from the festival. They are created in a collaboration between Roskilde Festival and Roskilde Municipality, allowing the festival’s art to flow into the city.
