A settlement carries centuries of sound: machines, voices, weather, memories – layered on top of each other, never quite in order.

Reflection of the Sunset is a live-edited sound experience by composer and performer Stefan Węgłowski, presented as part of Arobal & Mikkel Nielsen’s pavilion Rehearsals of Belonging 2.0. It draws on the city’s sonic textures – industrial hums, natural ambience, social noise – all processed, manipulated, and woven together in real time into a fluid, urban audio utopia.

Immerse yourself in an unpredictable, organic soundscape as we mark the transition from day to night, from one phase to another.  Reflection of the Sunset contains no climax. The work moves in multiple directions at once, without a fixed beginning or single destination, resonating with the pavilion and inviting you to participate in this daily ritual.

Come as you are. Find a spot and let the sound move around you. No preparation or prior knowledge required.

Stefan Węgłowski is a Polish composer, producer, and live performer. His work focuses on compositions for small ensembles and solo instruments, combining minimalist and timbre-based techniques with electronic music.

The work is made in collaboration with Bartek Arobal and Mikkel Nielsen.
