Lace up your dancing shoes: Discover the festival's dance communities

From groovy dancehall and lively folk dancing to the traditional wedding waltz, we've rounded up six of the festival's biggest dance communities, so you can dance your way through Roskilde Festival.

At Roskilde Festival, you're almost always within reach of a dance floor – and this year is no exception. Across the festival site, you can learn everything from experimental dance styles to traditional dances that you'll be able to take with you long after the festival ends.

Here's your guide to the dance communities across the festival city.

Create a wool artwork to Nordic rhythms

Folk dancing and felting come together in a unique rhythmic dance workshop. As you move through the dance steps, raw wool is transformed into three large wall hangings that will later be displayed in the Food Court at Inner Plaza.

No need to worry if you've never tried traditional folk dancing before – Nordisk Dans will guide you through the steps.

Where and when?

Sunday, 3.00 pm – Folk dancing at the Dancefloor.

"Forward, to the side, and together"

There's never a bad time to master the wedding waltz – a dance that most of us will come across sooner or later.

Folkehuset Absalon has brought its wedding celebrations to Roskilde Festival and is inviting you onto the dance floor. Whether you're getting ready for the big day or simply want to brush up on the classic steps, this is your chance.

And who knows? You might even bump into your future spouse the next time you're queueing for the toilets or showing off your new moves in Dream City.

Where and when?

Monday, 3.00 pm – Wedding waltz at Dancefloor

Arrive like Bambi, leave like Travolta

Find your rhythm at the roller disco while grooving to legendary disco classics.

Whether you've never worn roller skates before or feel as comfortable in them as you do in your sandals, everyone is welcome. By the end of the evening, you'll be rolling back to your camp with a few new tricks under your belt.

Roller skates are available to borrow free of charge, and you can add a touch of glitter before hitting the dance floor.

Where and when?

Sunday, Monday and Tuesday, 6.15 pm – Roller disco at Skate

Dance in sync and leave with a smile

Lace up your dancing shoes and get ready for what might just be Roskilde Festival's biggest group dance.

You'll be guided through the choreography step by step in a dance that's as good for your brain as it is for your body.

Bring a friend along and join the ultimate community dance on the festival city's huge open-air dance floor.
