Experience two new student films from Roskilde Festival Folk High School (RoFH) and the National Film School of Denmark. From the Film School, you can watch a short film about a romantic encounter at Roskilde Festival, and from RoFH we invite you on an experimental cinematic journey at a school.
FLOATING CAMERA is a film experiment created by students from the Media Production programme at Roskilde Festival Folk High School. Through a series of floating camera walks, the film moves exploratorily through a creative workshop where young people connect with one another and with the world through textiles and creative processes. The camera glides between people, objects, and spaces with a dreamlike and subtly displaced attention, allowing the familiar to gradually become strange and open to new meanings.
Run time: 8 minutes
JOMFRU is about a young woman at Roskilde Festival who brings a stranger back to her tent in the hope of a one-night stand. However, the chaotic surroundings of the festival and social expectations get in the way of the intimate encounter. In confronting their own insecurities, they find an unexpectedly honest connection.
Run time: 8 minutes
Both movies are screened in partnership with Filmskolen og Roskilde Festival Højskole.
Roskilde Festival’s cinema is returning in 2026 after 13 years. During First Days, you can experience both new feature films, documentaries, and special late-night screenings. The Cinema programme is curated by Roskilde Festival and Roskilde Festival Højskole and created in collaboration with CPH:DOX, the European Parliament, The Why Foundation, RoskildeBio.nu, and the Danish National Film School.
Cinema is supported by OpEN – the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ Information and Engagement Fund.
