Rebellious pop in a revolutionary stage design creates a unique experience

  • Wednesday 1 July

Step into a unique musical and artistic space as Roskilde Festival, in collaboration with the Betty Nansen Theatre, presents a spectacular performance by the phenomenon Angående Mig under the title “Iscenesat” (“Staged”).

Angående Mig has long established herself as one of Denmark’s most intriguing acts, with a knack for expressing the full emotional spectrum—from anger and sorrow to sincerity and vulnerability—in formats that transcend both genre and the traditional concert format. With an unpredictable and personal blend of Danish-language folk, autotuned synthpop and raw punk energy, Angående Mig has proven to be a live act in a class of her own, as Roskilde Festival also experienced in 2024. For the same reason, songwriter Laura Lilholt Andersen and her fantastic band were also obvious choices to take part in the special project Iscenesat, which bridges the gap between performing arts and live music.

In 2025, the staged concert was developed within the framework of the Betty Nansen Theatre, where Angående Mig, in close collaboration with the theatre’s director Elisa Kragerup, created a performance that engaged in dialogue with the set design from a production of Victor Hugo’s classic Les Misérables. A narrative which, with its focus on oppression, class society and the spirit of revolution, resonates deeply not only in our own time, but also to a great extent within Angående Mig’s universe, which is driven by an often furious rebellion against convention.

At this year’s Roskilde Festival, Angående Mig will be bringing the Iscenesat concert to the festival stage. The website Bands of Tomorrow wrote of the premiere at the Betty Nansen Theatre: “Sublime art and masterful musicality came together in an overwhelming aesthetic collision.” We can therefore confidently promise a truly special artistic experience this summer.
