SATURDAY 4 JULY

A unique concert experience combining death metal, opera and electronic experiments

  • Saturday 4 July

To call Igorrs music original is almost an understatement. Under the moniker, French artist Gautier Serre has, since 2010, created his own unique universe, where all his musical passions flow together and create dramatic mutations. Here, it is perfectly natural to mix extreme metal growls and crushing riffs with opera, baroque piano and electronic breakbeats. And why stop there when you can also throw some Balkan-inspired folk music into the mix?

Baroquecore was the telling name of an early EP by Igorrr, and Serre himself has mentioned inspirations ranging from Baroque composers such as Bach and Scarlatti to electronic pioneer Aphex Twin and death metal band Cannibal Corpse. To mention just a few of the countless references that weave their way into Igorrr's eccentric and overwhelming music.

The real stroke of genius, however, is that Igorrr not only creates breakneck genre clashes, but also manages to let a theatrical and atmospheric expression grow out of the apparent chaos, as can be heard on the latest critically acclaimed album Amen from 2025.

What started as a pure solo project has grown into a full band that manages to lift the music's mix of experimental metal and opera vocals in a live context, making Igorrr an unparalleled concert experience. So throw your preconceptions about music out the window and join us on a wild musical journey when Igorrr visits Roskilde Festival this summer.
