Ind I Solen (“Into the Sun”) is a fitting title for Kayak’s latest EP. Reaching toward the sky, hope, and light, the Danish trio balance their sense of uplift with a lingering, dreamlike melancholy that cuts straight to the core. The release earned five-star reviews from Soundvenue and Gaffa, both praising the band’s ability to unite emotional intimacy with striking musical scope.
With soft ambient sounds, strong melodies and experimental guitar figures, the trio creates their own musical space somewhere between pop, fragile indie folk and alternative rock. It is a space that is both intimate and theatrical, where you are carried away by poignant melodies and enveloped in a warm musical embrace.
The poetic Danish lyrics are masterfully lifted by Eva Berghamar's vocals, gently supported by her bandmates Carl Magnus Olsen and Albert Odgaard. You can sense that they have a very special connection with each other – also on stage.
The band has impressed with several strong concerts since releasing their debut EP Under Øjenlåg in 2025. And we predict that it will be a deeply moving experience when they unfold their dreamy indie pop this summer at Roskilde Festival.
