Album titles such as A Great Chaos and More Chaos set the tone quite accurately. When Atlanta rapper Ken Carson takes the stage, the audience is invited to let go of control in a frenetic soundscape of heavy trap beats, overdriven synths and distorted vocals.
Even as a teenager, Carson was making waves in the underground scene with a series of tracks uploaded to SoundCloud. One of the many who was impressed was Playboi Carti, who soon signed him to his label Opium, where he has become one of the most prominent artists.
Like Playboi Carti himself, Ken Carson has been hailed as one of the standard-bearers of the trap subgenre known as rage rap, which in recent years has taken the world by storm with its raw intensity, heavy bass and thumping beats. A Both on stage and on his releases, Ken Carson lives up to rage rap’s reputation for shaking listeners with chaotic energy and a punk ethos that he masters like few others.
NME aptly wrote of More Chaos, released in 2025: “While others play it safe, Carson is feral, unleashing madness without hesitation as the overlord of the mosh pit. And in that mayhem, he has found his kingdom.” So you can expect a moshpit and underground hip-hop of the highest calibre when Carson takes the stage at Roskilde Festival this summer for his first Danish concert.
