A rare summit between two of Sweden’s most influential rappers awaits when Yung Lean and Bladee take the stage together at Roskilde Festival this summer. Both artists have grown from underground sensations into international stars who, as pioneers of experimental cloud rap, have had a major impact on the global hip-hop landscape. They have pushed the genre into new territory with psychedelic production, Nordic melancholy and a striking dose of post-punk influence.
That post-punk energy comes through especially clearly on their 2024 collaborative album Psykos, which received glowing reviews. Pitchfork highlighted its threads to icons such as Ian Curtis and Robert Smith, while The Line of Best Fit, Vogue, and Dazed placed Psykos among the year’s best releases.
In October 2025, Yung Lean and Bladee expanded their partnership with the EP Evil World — a compact work that marks another step into a darker and more chaotic shared universe. Here, the two artists blend their differences with particular intensity: Bladee’s raw, distorted aesthetic meets Yung Lean’s more melodic and emotional approach, resulting in three tracks that balance unease, feeling and a sharply tuned interplay.
Throughout their careers, Yung Lean and Bladee have maintained a close and fruitful collaboration as central figures in the style-defining collective Drain Gang, which helped put Swedish hip-hop on the world map. Psykos was their first full-length collaboration, Evil World their latest extension of a partnership already in strong creative form — and both releases raise the bar creatively.
We, too, can hardly wait for summer, when Yung Lean and Bladee return to Roskilde Festival — where Yung Lean delivered a spectacular solo concert in 2023. When these two pioneers perform together, audiences can expect material from their joint releases as well as deep dives into both artists’ own catalogues.
