Personal fusion of Afrobeats and UK drill from one of the most prominent UK rappers

"My genre is freedom of speech," British/Gambian artist Pa Salieu has stated, and his sharp tracks certainly don't mince words, whether dissecting the feeling of alienation in British society or engaging in personal introspection of a fragile mind.

His sound strikes a raw and personal balance between quintessentially British elements of grime and UK drill and his Gambian roots. Combined with lyrical depth, this has made him one of England's most respected rappers since he broke through the sound barrier with his 2020 mixtape Send Them to Coventry, which led The Guardian to proclaim him "Britain's hottest new rapper."

Collaborations with artists such as FKA Twigs and Burna Boy have emphasized that he is a rapper not to be ignored, and with the mixtape Afrikan Alien from 2024, he added even more personal nuances to his expression with a deeper dive into African music and spirituality. The release garnered critical acclaim and also led to a nomination for the prestigious Mercury Prize.

Pa Salieu’s fusion of Afrobeats and UK drill has also thrilled critics and audiences alike on stage, most recently after a powerful performance at Glastonbury in 2025. We are therefore delighted to finally present the prominent rap icon in Denmark.
