With his groovy debut album, Lojay is headed for the Afrobeats stars

If you're looking for a sweaty Afrobeats party at Roskilde Festival, then you can safely memorize the name Lojay. Behind the name is Nigerian singer and songwriter Olalekan Oluwarantimi Osifeso Jr., who since 2016 has made a strong mark on the modern Afrobeats scene with his impressive vocals and a personal style.

His ability to create an engaging mix of Afrobeats, amapiano, rap, and R&B was clear on the 2022 single "Monalisa," which gave him a significant international breakthrough. His versatile potential and personal voice are even more evident on his recently released debut album XOXO. Impressively, Lojay emerges as an artist who can deliver banger after banger without compromising on emotional depth and a sophisticated soundscape.

Lojay himself has described the album as “messy, emotional, sexy, and honest. I wanted it to feel like a late-night text you probably shouldn't send... but do anyway." That energy is channeled to the audience through an exquisite sense of groove, harmony, and songwriting, and through collaborations with names such as Odeal and amapiano star Tyla, Lojay signals that he is headed straight for the top of the Afrobeats scene.

Now he is ready to welcome the audience at Roskilde Festival into his dance-infused and emotional universe, and with music that is perfect for warm summer nights, it is bound to be a spectacular concert.
