"One frisky Latin banger after another," wrote The Guardian about Bad Gyal's debut album La Joia, which truly made the Catalan singer a global phenomenon in 2024. That same year, Bad Gyal performed at Roskilde Festival, where thousands of fans braved the pouring rain to experience the Spanish pop icon.
Because there will be dancing when Bad Gyal unfolds her sweaty and sensual universe of reggaeton, dancehall and pop, where heavy bass, club-ready beats and languid ballads resonate in both the body and the heart.
Now she returns with her new album Más Cara, an expansive 19-track project that broadens her sound without losing the rhythmic roots that defined her breakthrough. The album moves across reggaeton, R&B, dancehall, merengue house, shatta, guaracha and kompa, resulting in a more cohesive and self-assured expression where her voice, attitude and musicality take centre stage.
Bad Gyal first began turning heads in 2016 with a series of singles and the release of Slow Wine Mixtape, and has since grown into a megastar in her home country, with her singles regularly topping the charts. Internationally, too, her talent was quickly recognised – in 2017, FACT named her single “Jacaranda” the song of the year.
Since her appearance at Roskilde Festival in 2024, her popularity has only continued to grow, with new releases, a documentary on Amazon Prime and, not least, the large-scale Bikini Badness Tour, showcasing her as a formidable live performer in a colourful tour de force of music, dancers, lavish visuals and a string of irresistible hits. It’s set to be a hot summer at Roskilde Festival!
