The voice of Vulvatorious goes solo with personal landscapes and industrial sounds

Ditte Krøyer has been a key figure on the alternative Copenhagen scene in recent years. This is not least thanks to her role as front person in the punk inspired and feminist black metal band Vulvatorious, with whom she also impressed at the Roskilde Festival in 2024.

Anyone who has witnessed Vulvatorious' powerful performances on stage will also know that Krøyer is a born front figure who consistently delivers extremely physical and engaging performances with raw vocals, fiery anger and a downright electric energy.

There are therefore high expectations when she releases her first solo album in the spring and follows up with a concert at Roskilde Festival in the summer. With her solo project, she explores a more electronic side of her work without compromising on the brutal vocal outbursts and dark moods for which she is known.

Krøyer draws on metal, industrial and smouldering electronic collages in an exploration of her hometown Nakskov. An area characterised by liminal spaces on the threshold between agriculture and the sugar industry. It is a personal landscape that Krøyer has also explored in her work as a visual artist, and which is now brought to the stage at Roskilde Festival with an intense and truly special performance.
