Dark clouds gather over Roskilde Festival when the North Jutland post-hardcore band Kōya takes the stage.
The band has quickly made its mark on the Danish metal scene with its blend of crushing heaviness and immersive atmospheres – rooted in genres such as hardcore, sludge, black metal and shoegaze. The versatile and dense universe is at once cold and emotional, opening up beautiful and frightening landscapes of Nordic darkness.
The result is a captivating, dynamic and intense soundscape that constantly balances between the controlled and the chaotic, the stoic and the animalistic. Now it is finally Roskilde Festival's turn to experience Kōya's intense live energy. And the timing is perfect, as the band is releasing a new album this summer, where they have cultivated even tighter songwriting without compromising on atmospheric depth.
