It may well be that both the band name and the title of their latest album, Have You Heard of the High Elves (2025), bring to mind an epic fantasy universe. But it is a different, raw and unfiltered expression that greets you when you step into Lord Snow's blunt hardcore universe.
The Chicago band has been active in the musical underground since 2011 and has built a solid reputation as an explosive and unpredictable band that combines noisy riffs, screamo vocals and almost jazzy passages. Thanks to the band's high technical level, the songs balance on a knife edge between musical discipline and chaotic meltdown, and the audience is mercilessly swept into the hard-hitting arena of the music.
Lyrically, the band opens up about both anger and pain in the confrontation with a brutal society, while at the same time tearing apart patriarchal structures and creating inclusive spaces for non-binary identities.
With their blend of raw lo-fi nerve, uncompromising DIY spirit and impressive musicality, Lord Snow has become an admired band on the hardcore, screamo and emoviolence scene. Live, they deliver the goods with high energy and a raging musical assault, which you can look forward to experiencing this summer when the cult band gives their very first concert in Denmark.
