They have a reputation for being one of Norway's greatest live bands. A reputation that many Roskilde Festival guests will be able to confirm. Honningbarna has thrilled both audiences and critics at the festival on several occasions, most recently in 2015, when the music site Devilution gave them top marks and wrote: "An utterly memorable concert experience that combined community, energy and euphoria into a powerful sonic symbiosis."
In their home country of Norway, Honningbarna have grown since their inception in 2010 into an indispensable phenomenon, garnering numerous awards and critical acclaim with their punk sound. Their 2022 album Animorphs was hailed as a clear masterpiece. The newspaper NRK simply called the album "one of the best punk albums ever in Norway".
In 2025, Honningbarna delivered another masterpiece in the form of their latest album, Soft Spot. An album that was also hyped internationally by The Needle Drops' Anthony Fantano, who was blown away by the band's energy and wrote, "What a sick, nasty record that, in my opinion, is really doing this classic 2000s post-hardcore sound right".
Both live and on their recordings, Honningbarna master the difficult art of capturing the wildness and energy of punk while avoiding clichés. And in the midst of the music's violent storm, they manage to deliver memorable melodies, powerful lyrics, original arrangements and a fantastic show. It's going to be a blast of a concert when Honningbarna returns to Roskilde Festival this summer!
