Vulnerability, protest and poetic songs unfolded by a captivating voice

If you attended Africa Express's huge concert at Roskilde Festival's Orange Stage last year, you will already be familiar with Mexican singer-songwriter Luisa Almaguers' moving voice. This summer, you will have the opportunity to delve deeper into her own musical universe, where personal songs unfold against a backdrop of intimate folk, alternative rock and shoegaze.

Luisa Almaguer creates her own poetic songwriting style, drawing on guitar-driven indie, psychedelic vibes and Mexican folk music traditions, lifted by an achingly beautiful voice. A voice that reveals both gentle vulnerability and resilience, reflecting her identity as a trans woman.

Music and activism go hand in hand for Almaguer, who is a dedicated advocate for transgender rights in her home country, while her music creates space for personal reflections and experiences. She released her debut EP in 2016, but it was the powerful album Weyes from 2024 that gave her her breakthrough, leading to international concerts at venues such as the Le Guess Who festival.

Now Denmark finally has the opportunity to experience Luisa Almaguer's solo material when she returns to Roskilde Festival with her beautiful songs, powerful stories and captivating voice.
