Melancholic beauty from atmospheric dream pop songwriter with a powerful voice

  • Wednesday 1 July

With a dreamy indie sound, Norwegian project Tuvaband strikes a perfect balance between delicate intimacy and grandiose musical landscapes. It is a sound that has earned Tuvaband many fans both at home and abroad since the first release in 2017.

Behind Tuvaband is singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Tuva Hellum Marschhäuser, who, together with carefully selected musicians, unfolds a poignant universe where fragile folk tones, atmospheric shoegazer sounds and Kate Bush-esque art pop come together in perfect harmony. The underlying tone is dark and melancholic, but at the same time the music opens up to great beauty and glimmers of hopeful light.

Tuvaband has collaborated with the American experimental duo New Age Doom on the acclaimed album There Is No End (2023). In 2025, she released her latest solo album, Seven Ways of Floating, which is yet another artistic triumph for her poetic dream pop and an excellent album to warm up with before Tuvaband's concert at this year's Roskilde Festival.

Live, the songs unfold with a full band, lifting the arrangements' many layers to new heights. And you can expect a beautiful, melancholic and atmospheric experience from a fantastic songwriter and vocalist.
