Nowadays, it's rare to find fresh names that truly manage to create classic band magic with good songwriting and a focus on live performance. And when it happens with such an awesome cool factor, as is the case with British band Wolf Alice, you just have to give in.
My Love is Cool was the aptly named debut album from 2015. An album that quickly established Wolf Alice as a band that managed to revitalise an alternative rock sound in British music, paving the way for a wave of newer bands such as Wet Leg and The Last Dinner Party.
Since then, the band has released a number of critically acclaimed albums, including Visions of Life, which received the Mercury Prize for best release in 2018. But it is not least their deeply engaging concerts that have built them up to be some of the biggest rock stars of our time. Stars who manage to create a show with strong songs, dynamics and a charisma that really shines through. This has also secured them a dedicated fan base that has only grown in strength with each new release.
Wolf Alice has a strong ability to create their own personal synthesis of rock history. Without resorting to nostalgia, their music offers elements of 90s alternative rock and grunge, 70s glam rock and classic names such as Fleetwood Mac, David Bowie and The Beatles. Their latest album, The Clearing (2025), shows that the band continues to evolve, and NME gave the album top marks, calling it "sublime".
The album has also earned Wolf Alice several nominations for this year's Brit Awards, and they certainly have no intention of slowing down. It is a tremendous pleasure to finally welcome this outstanding live band to Roskilde Festival and the Orange Stage this summer.
