The best live experiences happen when great music has the right space to unfold. That is why we are constantly evolving our stage areas, creating the perfect setting for unforgettable performances across every genre.
One of the first things you will notice this year is the Orange Stage, bigger than ever before. But that is not the only new addition to the festival site.
We are also introducing Fauna and Lagune – two brand-new stage areas set to become important gathering spots across the festival site. Behind these new spaces are dedicated volunteers who bring the festival to life.
Get ready to explore the festival site with entirely new stage area experiences.
The whole festival at your fingertips
Every day during Roskilde Festival, you can dive into fresh interviews, guides, recommendations and stories on roskilde-festival.dk and in the app.
Discover your next favourite concert, meet the artists behind the music and get closer to everything happening on, behind and beyond the stages.
You will find Lagune just north of Eos. During First Days, it will showcase some of the most exciting emerging artists from across the Nordic region. As Final Days begins, the area will transform into an expanded stage experience featuring artists from around the globe.
Look forward to performances ranging from Danish trio Ponny, who open the new stage on Sunday 28 June at 15:00, to artists such as Smerz, Club Live, BB Tricks and Eee Gee
Fauna will open on Wednesday in the north-eastern corner of the festival site. Nestled among the treetops, it offers retreat from the busy festival vibe.
The music will play for the very first time at Fauna on Wednesday 1 July at 17:45, when Norwegian Tuvaband brings their dreamy indie sound to Fauna. After that, you can look forward to artists such as Yerai Cortés, Dean Johnson, Cat Clyde and Sorry.
New Orange Stage for the Concerts of the Future
For the first time in 25 years, the Orange Stage has undergone a major expansion. The roof structure is now twice as high, while the iconic orange canopy has grown by 25 percent in both height and width.
The new stage can accommodate crowds of up to 60,000 people and will offer significantly more space for stage design, lighting, and visual productions.
Here, you can look forward to seeing favourites such as Gorillaz, The Cure, Zara Larsson, Tobias Rahim and Pil.
“Fauna is an oasis where you can take a break, relax on the grass with a beer and enjoy live music at the same time. It really offers the best of both worlds.”
That is how Anna Sund Jongsma describes the new Fauna area. As a volunteer responsible for shaping the identity of the areas surrounding Fauna and The Garden, she has helped create the area together with more than 140 fellow volunteers.
“When we started developing the name and concept for the area, we listened to ideas and suggestions from lots of volunteers. Creating something together builds both engagement and a real sense of community.”
The name Fauna, inspired by nature and woodland life, quickly became the clear favourite. It now shapes the area's identity, from its landscape to its colours, forms and overall atmosphere.
“There will be various elements in the shades of orange and warm pink hanging from the trees. Those colours work beautifully against the greenery and make the surroundings feel even more vibrant. They also reflect the sense of warmth that, to me, is in the name Fauna.”

When you are ready to take a break, you can settle into one of the three pyramid-shaped seating installations. From there, you can enjoy the concerts at Fauna beneath the open sky.
“The lighting towers rising from the seating installations allow us to extend the lighting beyond the stage itself and out across the canopy. That means the stage environment can expand for bigger shows and become more intimate for smaller performances.”
Now, Anna Sund Jongsma and the rest of the volunteer team are looking forward to welcoming you.
“We cannot wait to see the area completed and open. We hope it will be embraced with the same love and care that has gone into creating it.”
Soon, you will be able to explore Fauna, Lagune and the rest of the festival site for yourself. And you will surely notice how every corner has been shaped with care and dedication by Anna Sund Jongsma and thousands of other volunteers.
