Tessa directs this year’s Orange Donation to Amnesty

19.05.2026Commitment

Danish rapper Tessa has chosen Amnesty International Denmark as this year's Orange Donation recipient. Watch her surprise the organisation.

When Tessa takes to the Orange Stage on Friday 3 July, she will make history as the first Danish female rapper to perform a solo show on our iconic main stage.

But she is already leaving her mark on the festival in another way.

This year, we asked Tessa to select the recipient of the Orange Donation, through which one of the artists performing on the Orange Stage chooses a cause that deserves the attention of the festival community. She chose Amnesty International Denmark, which will receive a donation of DKK 500,000.

See how Tessa surprised Amnesty International Denmark with the donation:

Orange Donation Invites Artists to Help Make a Difference

Amnesty International Denmark works to protect and strengthen human rights. The organisation’s work for women’s rights includes combating hate speech and discrimination, which can cause women and minorities to withdraw from public debate.

This year’s Orange Donation will help strengthen Amnesty International Denmark’s work for women’s rights and freedom of expression, while shining a spotlight on an issue that calls for action.

It is incredibly important to highlight Amnesty’s work and women’s rights, because we are still far from where we need to be. And I know that Amnesty is helping to make a real difference. I have personally experienced hate speech and discrimination as a woman in the music industry, and I hope this donation can help move things in the right direction.

— Tessa

We are living in a time when our human rights are under attack. Women and minorities in particular are being affected. In public debate, they are often met with hate and discrimination, which reinforce stereotypes and prejudice. This impacts individuals, who withdraw from the debate, but it also affects our democracy when people are unable to express themselves freely. With this donation, we can strengthen the work towards a world where everyone can speak freely and safely.

— Vibe Klarup, Secretary general of Amnesty International Denmark

Non-profit

We pass on the profits to humanitarian, non-profit, and cultural causes that can create change and inspire hope for the future.
