Young entrepreneurs test tomorrow’s green solutions in the festival city
Since 2022, The Circular Lab has involved more than 200 young entrepreneurs in developing future circular solutions. The initiative is run by Roskilde Festival and the Tuborg Foundation, working together to give the next generation greater influence, accelerate the green transition, and inspire more sustainable behaviour in Denmark.
Here, entrepreneurs have the opportunity to test their ideas with a young and curious audience – in a temporary festival city where 130,000 people live side by side. It offers unique opportunities to gather knowledge and data on how solutions work in practice, or to stress-test them in a high-intensity environment full of unexpected challenges.
The Circular Lab is a platform where anything can be tested: from upcycling and textile innovation to social initiatives and surprising experiments. Here, waste can be transformed into aesthetic materials, old tents can be turned into new clothing, and the foods of the future can find their way to your plate.
It’s not about finished solutions – but about experimenting and involving the audience, so ideas can be further refined. With your input, entrepreneurs can get closer to results that inspire new ways of producing, using, and reusing resources.
Bloom Burst Confetti is one example of an idea tested through The Circular Lab – and later taken a step further onto the festival’s stages. Watch the video here.
