Singer and songwriter Ana Juél is a relatively new name on the Danish scene, but there is no doubt that she is on her way up with a personal voice and an international sound that has led Soundvenue to compare her to soul and R&B names such as Jamila Woods and Amber Mark.
Her EP You Don't Have To Love Me was called "a strikingly strong debut" by Danish music magazine Gaffa when it was released in 2025. Produced by Frans Nielsen (Ganger, Dayyani), the EP should also make all fans of modern R&B listen carefully. It combines strong emotions and artistic depth with an understated edge and beautiful detail, and the songs invite both contemplation, dancing and social protest.
In Ana Juél's chest you’ll find a heart that beats for justice, which is poignantly expressed in a song like "Bleed", where she and Kurdish/Danish singer Luna Ersahin (AySay) create a powerful anthem about sisterhood around the world.
Ana Juél's combination of intimate presence, social indignation and artistic courage makes her a compelling voice. And with dazzling vocals that alternate between tenderness and power, she embraces rich nuances of human emotion. A beautiful and soulful experience awaits at Roskilde Festival.
