Let yourself be engulfed in a dark and noisy universe of smouldering drones when the Danish/English duo Griend visits Roskilde Festival.
With roots in noise, industrial and experimental sound collages, Griend creates a soundscape that certainly does not pander to the audience and can be frightening to step into. But for the brave, there is also much to be gained from the music's distorted and gloomy sound architecture.
A certain mystique surrounds the project, which has only played a few select concerts and has yet to release any music. However, Puce Mary and Rainy Miller, the duo behind the project, are both important voices on the European experimental scene. English producer and musician Rainy Miller has gained widespread recognition for her ability to create soundscapes that contain both complex layers and a raw, emotional nerve. Puce Mary – alias Frederikke Hoffmeier – is one of Denmark's leading noise artists, who has released a long series of recordings on the Posh Isolation label and made a name for herself with her radical and intense concerts. Recently, she has also gained recognition as a film composer with her music for the award-winning film The Girl with the Needle.
The stage is set for a unique and noisy sound experience when these two experimental musicians meet. And we are proud to host one of Griend's rare concerts at this year's Roskilde Festival.
