- Sunday 29 JuneReading: Elias Sadaq, 11:00, Re:Act
What is it like to live as both Muslim and queer in a society where norms and expectations pull in opposite directions? Elias Sadaq is one of Denmark’s most prominent new voices, and his writing gives expression to the challenges of being a double minority.
When Elias Sadaq visits Re:Act, he will read from his critically acclaimed poetry collection Djinn—an intense and raw poetic journey through desire, shame, faith, and identity. With this collection, Sadaq puts words to what often remains unspoken: violence and desire, shame and acceptance, and the necessity of facing one’s djinn when it can no longer be ignored.
Following the reading, we open the floor for dialogue, where the audience can ask questions and reflect on the dilemmas Sadaq brings to light.
Come and experience a powerful and compelling voice that insists marginalized experiences deserve a place at the center of our shared narrative.
Please note: This event will be in Danish.
Re:Act is presented by Rapolitics, Roskilde Festival, and the Danish Institute for Human Rights, with support from the Tuborg Foundation and the OpEn Fund.
