Prepare for an intense and visually charged live piece when acclaimed Turkish artist Göksu Kunak takes over Platform with HUNGRY 2.0.
Inspired by the 1976 live exhibition Articulate Muscle: The Body As Art at the Whitney Museum – featuring Arnold Schwarzenegger – HUNGRY 2.0 unfolds as a living collage: part TV parade, part Instagram feed, part freak show, placing the body at the center as a kinetic sculpture.
Drawing from the powerful works of second-wave feminist artists like Valie Export and Carolee Schneemann, Kunak explores how the body is shaped and reshaped – how this transformation can be both artificial and genuine, revealing and concealing, fascinating and unsettling.
Through a blend of video, pole performance, bodybuilding, a scissor lift, and staged Actions, festivalgoers are invited to move through various stations that highlight the performative and transformative power of the human form.
Featured performers Bilgesu Akyürek (TR), Markus Hausmann (DE), Buğra Büyükşimşek (TR) will bring the dynamic energy of the Happenings and Actions to the stage.
