The podcast Lykkeberg & Corydon is coming to an end with a bang at Roskilde Festival. With Bjarne Corydon stepping into his new role as Director General of DR (Danmarks Radio), it’s no longer possible to dissect the state of the world alongside his old, left-leaning friend and Editor-in-Chief of Dagbladet Information, Rune Lykkeberg. The duo is calling it quits – but not without one last performance, where they’ll pass the torch to the rest of us. The People's Movement Against Monocausal Explanations must go on.
For what may be the very last time, the two friends reunite for a live edition of their legendary podcast, inviting the audience into a conversation about activism for and against Trump, the war in Gaza, the radicalised centre of Danish politics – and why the world, despite unjust wars, delusional despots, and climate catastrophe, still deserves hope, action and raised fists. A conversation about utopias, losing one another – and maybe about musical tastes best forgotten.
The conversation will take place in Danish.
About the podcast:
Since the beginning of 2024, Lykkeberg & Corydon has been a weekly current affairs podcast offering an open space for honest, divergent and often surprising conversations between two men with roots in journalism and politics – and a shared love of ideas, books and public debate. From opposing perspectives, they have explored the issues of the day with mutual respect and personal insight.
About Rune Lykkeberg:
Rune Lykkeberg is editor-in-chief of Dagbladet Information and one of the most original and critically minded public intellectuals of his generation. Through books, articles and podcasts – most recently the Langsomme Samtaler (Slow Conversations) series, in which he interviews international thinkers on war, climate and hope – he has made a distinct mark. He is known for challenging both left and right and for keeping a utopian vision alive in a world shaped by crisis.
About Bjarne Corydon:
Bjarne Corydon is a former Finance Minister and newly appointed Director General of DR. He became a national figure as the architect of the so-called “politics of necessity” during Helle Thorning-Schmidt’s government and has since worked as a consultant, CEO and, most recently, editor-in-chief of the business daily Børsen. Corydon is known for his uncompromising analysis, deep voice and focus on strategy and substance – as well as a surprising fondness for Taylor Swift.
