Lamin to open Orange Stage

19.03.2024Programme

Ride the wave! Danish hip-hop's new superstar, Lamin, will open the Orange Stage for Roskilde Festival 2024.

Get ready for an explosive opening show at Orange Stage this summer with the Danish hip hop sensation Lamin, who will play our iconic main stage on Wednesday 3 July – almost exactly two years after his unforgettable Roskilde debut on the Countdown Stage.

Since his first show at Roskilde, Lamin has become a bona fide hip-hop superstar, and the main man is all set to deliver his biggest show yet this summer:

At my show on the Countdown Stage in 2022, I witnessed how Roskilde Festival is truly special. The atmosphere and energy was electric, and I fully expect to experience that again when I open the Orange Stage this year. It's going to be my biggest and wildest concert ever, and I'm incredibly excited. Ride the wave!

It all started in 2019 with the singles "Tiger" and "Trabajo," which were followed the next year by the Artigeardit collab "Milano Step" and the EP TOUR. In 2021, it was time for the debut album Hva Ved De Om Lams, and that same year, Lamin and Artigeardit released the joint EP Ny Agenda, featuring the smash hit "Hvor Fuck Er Min Drink?"

Shortly after Lamin's first concert at Roskilde Festival in 2022, he released his successful and triple platinum-selling album Kronisk Skeptisk, packed with outstanding productions, sharp punchlines, and a host of guests like Kesi, Giift, and fellow Roskilde act Icekiid. The album also featured the song "The Wave," which lent its name to the fan movement of the same name.

Lamin has already had a small taste of the Orange Stage experience. Last year, he joined Blæst's opening concert with their mega-hit "All In", proving that his crisp rap sound can spread the party vibes to the entire Orange audience.

But "Lams" is much more than just the king of the charts with his own fan movement. The 28-year-old rapper born in Copenhagen housing project Tingbjerg is also one of the biggest voices of his time with an artistic vision that resonates far beyond the world of hip-hop. Lamin is an inspiring, likable, and respected figure who constantly pushes the glass ceiling – and he's a natural choice to open the Orange Stage this summer!
