The opening concert on the Orange Stage – our iconic main stage – is an experience like no other.
It marks the start of four unforgettable days when every stage comes alive and the artist on stage becomes part of Roskilde history.
This summer, Danish pop singer Pil will open the Orange Stage with the biggest show of her career so far. The concert takes place on Wednesday 1 July, before artists such as Gorillaz, The Cure, Aphaca, Zara Larsson and Wolf Alice take to the same stage later in the week.
Expect a set filled with sing-along favourites like “Omvendt” and “Dronning Af Månen”, brand-new songs and a live format designed especially for the Orange Stage.
Today we can also reveal the First Days programme, bringing together some of the most exciting emerging artists from Denmark and across the Nordic region – see all 41 newly announced acts here.

Pil first performed at Roskilde Festival in 2023 as part of First Days, and since then she has grown into one of the most distinctive voices in Danish music.
Her journey began with the debut EP Når Du Går Herfra in 2019. Since then, she has expanded her dreamy and emotionally resonant universe with the albums Kom Vi Flyver, Siger Du and Hvis Du Tør Drømme.
Along the way, Pil has received awards including Danish Broadcast Corporation's P3 Talent Prize, collaborated with artists such as Andreas Odbjerg, Anton Westerlin, Medina and Burhan G, and performed on some of Denmark’s biggest stages.
When she takes over the Orange Stage this summer with her band, she will bring both new material and a string of beloved hits. We’re looking forward to a warm and heartfelt opening celebration – and to sharing that moment under the open sky with Pil.
